Aragonite is an incredibly variable mineral, and the second most common form of Calcium Carbonate on Earth. Pure Aragonite is typically colorless or white, but chemical impurities can turn it into a range of spectacular colors. These radiating crystal clusters, sometimes referred to as "Sputnik" Aragonite, are tinted lightly red-gold and exhibit a unique twinned habit reminiscent of the antennae surrounding the famed Soviet satellite.
