Barite w/ Green Fluorite

Barite is a mineral with an interesting history, a crystal occurring in a wide variety of colors and forms. Named for the Greek word for “heavy”, it is largely mined as an industrial ore across the globe, with uses in various industries including oil drilling. As a mineral specimen or gemstone Barite can be found in many colors including vibrant reds, pinks, and blues as well as the more commonly encountered clear or pale white.

This unique specimen consists of a dense formation of thick, honey gold Barite crystals atop a base of verdant green and purple Fluorite, creating a striking and colorful contrast.
